Это заболевание уже в младенческом или раннем детском возрасте приводит к терминальной стадии печеночной недостаточности, при которой единственным  радикальным методом лечения является трансплантация печени. В целом результаты пересадки печени хорошие, но в отдаленном периоде возможен возврат ПСВХ-2. Мы приводим наблюдение, в котором девочке в возрасте 28 месяцев, страдавшей циррозом печени в исходе ПСВХ-2, была выполнена родственная трансплантация левого латерального сектора печени (донор – бабушка). Через восемь лет после пересадки печени в связи с  дисфункцией трансплантата была выполнена пункционная биопсия. Патогистологический диагноз: «возврат ПСВХ-2; F4». Нарастание печеночной недостаточности послужило  причиной ретрансплантации левой доли печени также от родственного донора (матери).
